Helmer has experience in emission factors, on-road testing, and energy efficiency of HDVs. Before joining the ICCT, he gained experience as a professor at the National University of Colombia, senior consultant at GIZ (Transfer Program), and has also done consulting for several government institutions, private companies, and international agencies in Colombia and other Latin America countries.
