REPORT | Savings from smart charging electric cars and trucks in Europe: A case study for France in 2040<\/a><\/p>\n

Smart charging optimizes EV charging by adjusting timing and power based on grid demand, electricity prices, and renewable energy availability. By reducing costs, easing grid strain, and improving energy efficiency, it can help Europe lower power grid costs while supporting vehicle electrification. This webinar will present the results of a new study on the benefits of smart EV charging for power grids, focusing on the French region of Essonne, south of Paris. With its mix of urban and rural infrastructure, Essonne serves as a model for many European grids.<\/p>\n

Researchers Julia Hildermeier <\/strong>(Regulatory Assistance Project), Marie Rajon Bernard<\/strong> (International Council on Clean Transportation), and Marin Dil\u00e9<\/strong> (Artelys) will present the study\u2019s findings and discuss their implications for transport and energy sector policies. The session will conclude with a Q&A, where participants can engage with the experts.<\/p>\n
